Who Are You
My name is Jeana Linn Nolen. (Yes, that’s where the J-LINN-NO comes from.)
I’ve spent a few decades playing in bands, writing for newspapers (what are those?), designing websites for corporations and government, shooting photos for myself and others, and running social media outlets for nonprofits and small business owners.
I’m still doing the design gig to pay the bills, but I’m happily “retired” from schlepping music gear around. Now I just make a lot of noise in my home studio and photograph our dogs with an iPhone.
What I Play
Bass
My absolute favorite. Years of experience in bands, having fun onstage and testing my patience in the studio.
Guitar
Learned barre chords, scales, and enough riffs to be dangerous. Kind of suck at it now after I almost cut my left index finger off several years ago.
Drums
Enough to be dangerous. What I didn’t gleam from working with talented drummers, I learned on a “real” kit playing along to Rock Band.
Piano
Classically trained.
Ukele
Just started to learn on a sweet Kamaka.
Vocals
I suck at lead and should probably just sing backing but deal with it. It’s only rock’n’roll.

Bands
I’ve played in some great l’il bands in OKC and the ATL, including Sweet Envie, The Darwins, The Flinch, and The Stimulants. I often think about joining a beach band and playing yacht rock … but then I don’t.
